Greg is president and CEO of Hinkson Wealth Management. He began his career in 1991 with a nationwide financial services company. The company was known for its excellent training program and investment products. In 1993, he was recognized by the company as the No. 1 representative in the state of Michigan.

The following year, he started an independent firm that allowed him to fully represent his clients’ interests rather than the interests of a broker/dealer.

He currently holds FINRA Series 6, 7, and 63 securities registrations through Commonwealth Financial Network®. He is an investment adviser representative of Commonwealth and also holds insurance licenses for life, long-term care, and variable contracts.

In addition to these licenses and a business degree from Penn State University, Greg is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional who has taught university courses as an adjunct professor. He has been quoted by Morningstar Advisor magazine and named a Five Star Wealth Manager* seven years in a row by Hour Detroit Magazine. He was featured in the Wall Street Journal as one of the Five Star Wealth Managers you need to know and featured in Forbes Magazine as Michigan Financial Leader.

Greg is married to Valerie and is the proud father of four children. They live in Oakland Township, Michigan, and are members of the Kensington Community Church. In his spare time, he enjoys reading about a variety of topics. In addition to finance, Greg enjoys books about history, religion, politics, and holistic health. He also enjoys working out, skiing, and traveling.

Greg Hinkson is proud to have been recognized as a President's Club advisor for 2018—a distinction based on annual production attained by 7 percent of advisors affiliated with Commonwealth Financial Network.

Each year, Commonwealth, the Registered Investment Adviser–broker/dealer that helps us process investment transactions on your behalf, recognizes President's Club advisors by inviting them to an exclusive gathering of their peers, leading industry experts, and Commonwealth home office staff. President's Club advisors benefit from an intensive learning and networking experience designed to help them hone their expertise, share best practices, and provide ever-higher levels of service, education, and leadership to their clients.

*Based on 10 objective eligibility and evaluation criteria, including a minimum of 5 years as an active credentialed financial professional, favorable regulatory and complaint history, accepts new clients, client retention rates, client assets administered, education, and professional designations. 3,069 Detroit wealth managers were considered for the award; 322 (10 percent of candidates) were named 2018 Five Star Wealth Managers. (The criteria provided reflect the most recent year for which the advisor received the award. The criteria used, the number of wealth managers considered for the award, and the percentage of those who receive the award may vary from year to year.) Mr. Miller began his financial services career with a large, nationwide bank. After spending time in the banking industry, he started his own mortgage business in the 1990s. While his business grew and thrived, he became a large client of Hinkson Wealth Management.

After many years of working together, Mr. Miller was recruited to join Hinkson Wealth Management as a partner and COO. As investments were his passion, it did not take much recruiting.

He currently holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 securities registrations through Commonwealth Financial Network®. He is an investment adviser representative of Commonwealth and is insurance licensed for life, long-term care, and variable contracts.

In addition to these licenses, Mr. Miller is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®). The AIF® designation requires education, testing, and continuing education. An AIF® uses a “fiduciary” standard with his clients. A fiduciary standard simply means the investment must be in the client's best interest.

Mr. Miller lives in Shelby Township. He is a member of the Rochester Church of Christ and is an avid outdoorsman. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, hunting, fishing, hiking, and traveling to foreign countries.
